My journey to becoming a HighLevel Consultant & Agency
I have been a direct response marketer since 1996, way before the internet became what we know today. But since 2009, as the Internet really took hold as the dominant medium I have concentrated on online direct response marketing. It was a natural transition for me to online marketing as all my traditional offline experience as a direct response marketer is still highly relevant – the psychology of direct sales is still the same, only the technology has changed. After all, what we now call an ‘e-commerce business’ today used to be called a ‘mail order business’. Hence my years working in the mail-order business figuring out how to build sales is an education that money cannot buy and sets me way ahead of most.
When I first started marketing and selling online it was clear that there had to be a way to automate the online marketing process. It held me back using disparate systems like Aweber or Constant Contact for emails and PayPal for orders where the resulting data could not be fully leveraged to drive sales. It is pointless having stand-alone systems where email systems and order systems do not ‘talk’ to the customer database or affiliate programme effectively. This ‘Multi-System Chaos‘ is what led me to Keap, formerly called Infusionsoft, the CRM and marketing automation system. Within 6 months of adopting Keap / Infusionsoft I had generated over £500,000 in sales and an email list of over 300K.
And once I had built the email list I was able to create a subscription membership site based in WordPress that generated over £100K revenue in the first year. All this was made possible with Keap / Infusionsoft marketing automation. After experiencing the sales-generating power of Keap I was a convert.
Role on to 2014, after several years as an unofficial Keap consultant, I became a Certified Partner. I fopcused soley on workign with Keap clients for the next 9 years.

After a 24 year career in marketing I am regulary asked by clients to advise them on marketing issues and so in 2020 it became a natural progression to become a marketing coach after I learnt from Nigel Boterill about the Entrepreneurs Circle Coaching Programme. In 2023 it all changed for me when I became aware of and started to use HighLevel, a exciting up and coming CRM and marketing automation platform. I was so impressed with this that I set up my own HighLevel agency, called MarketerM8. Learn more about MarketerM8 here.
So that beings me up to date. I “work in the trenches” to assist clients with all aspects of HighLevel from initial set up and implementation to training their staff and consulting on their marketing.
