If you sell or install replacement windows, doors or conservatories, you probably want more new sales leads.
More enquiries should mean more surveys, quotations and installations. However, generating more leads is only part of the answer.
Before spending more on advertising or buying leads, ask yourself an important question:
Are you making the most of the enquiries you already receive?
Where do new window, door and conservatory leads come from?
Window, door and conservatory companies can generate enquiries through several channels, including:
- Google Ads
- Local search and Google Business Profile
- Facebook and Instagram advertising
- Search engine optimisation
- Recommendations and customer referrals
- Showrooms, exhibitions and local events
- Purchased window and double-glazing leads
- Leaflets, direct mail and local sponsorship

Google Ads can be particularly effective because they reach local homeowners who are actively searching for products such as replacement windows, composite doors or conservatory roofs.
Purchased leads can also produce business, but you need to understand whether they are exclusive, how they were generated and how quickly they are delivered.
Whatever the source, every lead costs something. It may be advertising spend, a lead supplier’s fee or the time required to generate referrals and organic enquiries.
More leads will not fix a weak follow-up process
It is easy to assume that doubling your leads will double your sales. In reality, it can expose problems in your existing sales process.
Consider what happens when:
- A telephone enquiry is missed because staff are busy
- Someone calls outside normal working hours
- An online enquiry sits unanswered until the following day
- A salesperson makes one call and then gives up
- A quotation is sent but never followed up
- An old enquiry disappears into a spreadsheet or filing system
Paying for more leads simply sends more people into the same leaky process.
This is especially important when purchased leads may be contacting several companies. The installer who responds quickly and professionally often has the advantage.
Answer every new enquiry quickly
Homeowners do not always make enquiries during office hours. They may start researching replacement windows or doors in the evening or at the weekend.
Missed-call text messages, automated acknowledgements and online appointment booking can give the customer an immediate response.
Voice AI can also answer calls when your staff are unavailable, collect the caller’s details and establish what they are interested in.
The objective is not to remove personal contact. It is to make sure that an opportunity is not lost before a member of your team has the chance to respond.
Follow up after sending the quotation
A homeowner who does not accept a quotation immediately has not necessarily said no.
They may be:
- Comparing different companies
- Waiting until they have the money available
- Discussing the project with their partner
- Delaying the work until a better time of year
- Considering a different combination of products
- Simply busy with something else
A structured follow-up process keeps your company visible without relying on a salesperson remembering every quotation.
This might include a combination of telephone calls, emails, text messages and useful information that helps the homeowner make a decision.
The aim should be helpful, relevant communication, not constant sales pressure.
Revisit your old leads and quotations
Your existing database may be one of your most valuable sources of future sales.
It can contain homeowners who requested information, received a quotation or postponed a project. You have already paid to generate these opportunities, but many window companies rarely contact them again.
We used HighLevel to run a reactivation campaign for a specialist sash-window repair company. By following up thousands of previous quotations, the campaign helped generate approximately £40,000 in work.
That result came from opportunities already sitting within the business, not from purchasing thousands of new leads.
Measure sales, not just lead numbers
A low cost per lead does not automatically mean successful marketing.
You also need to know:
- Which sources produce booked surveys
- How many surveys become quotations
- How many quotations become sales
- How long leads take to convert
- Which campaigns generate profitable work
- How much each completed sale costs to acquire
For example, imagine you spend £5,000 generating 100 enquiries and make ten sales. Your marketing cost is £500 per sale.
If better follow-up helps you generate 12 sales from those same enquiries, your cost falls to approximately £417 per sale without increasing your advertising budget.
This is only an illustration, but it shows why conversion matters as much as lead volume.
Does HighLevel generate window and door leads?
HighLevel does not automatically create new leads for your business.
Its Ad Manager can help you manage advertising campaigns across Google, Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn. For most window, door and conservatory installers, local, high-intent Google advertising is likely to be particularly relevant.
However, HighLevel’s wider value is what happens after someone calls, submits a form or enters your database.
It can help you:
- Respond to enquiries quickly
- Capture missed calls
- Organise leads in a sales pipeline
- Automate appropriate follow-up
- Book surveys and appointments
- Follow up outstanding quotations
- Reactivate older opportunities
- Track where enquiries and sales originated
My guide to HighLevel CRM for window, door and conservatory companies explains these capabilities in more detail.
Fix the leaks, then generate more leads
There is nothing wrong with wanting more window, door or conservatory leads.
But before increasing your advertising budget, buying more leads or launching another campaign, make sure your business can respond to and follow up every opportunity properly.
Once that process is working, additional lead generation becomes easier to measure and much safer to scale.
Would you like to convert more of your sales enquiries?
